Marble Inlay is one of
the most beautiful works of art in stone. Marble Inlay has traditions
dating back to mughal period with the Taj Mahal as one it's best
example. Marble Inaly is an art in which master craftsmen chisels the
marble piece to make beautiful designs like tendrils, floral arabesques,
trellis , creeper etc. in it and then semi-precoius stones like Lapis
Lazuli, Indian Jade, Jasper, Mother of Pearl , Malachite, Carnelaen etc.
are embedded in the marble. This a very traditional art and the whole
process requires lot of patience and accuracy.
The products of this art are mainly availabe as coasters, decorative
lamps, table tops, plates , elephant, jewellery boxes and flowervases.
